I just don’t agree that the demand, or budget, just isn’t there. If OMD, who I would argue are not as popular now as Erasure, can squeeze out DVD after DVD of their live shows, so can Erasure. OMD’s latest DVD has not much new or out of the ordinary, but got a DVD release. Erasure go on a new tour with new material and setlist, and we get nothing.
Again, they are asking 73USD for the privilege of listening to 2 back to back shows (which will likely be mostly the same) on 4CDs, which imo is just another slap in the face. It reeks of complete apathy and minimal effort. I won’t be supporting it.
It’s the same with Howard Jones,he brought out a couple of anniversary gig dvds using a few static HD cameras rigged up on his synths/one from the back etc and a handheld camera catching the rest.
Even if they set up a crowdfunded page I’m sure that’s fine with us,as at the Mei end we are preordering product long before it’s released, isn’t that really the same thing?

ERASURE: 'THE NEON LIVE' - ERASURE'S FORTHCOMING LIVE ALBUM - UPDATED RELEASE SCHEDULE
I just wanted to remind you that the limited-edition deluxe 2-CD, 3-Vinyl and 4-CD editions of 'The Neon Live' are all available to pre-order now. The deluxe editions are available exclusively from Live Here Now and Lexer Music and won't be available from any other retailers, however there will standard retail editions of the album available everywhere at some point next year. More details about 'The Neon Live' - including tracklistings, limited edition quantities, artwork and release dates - are available from Lexer Music and Live Here Now. As I mentioned in the last newsletter, recent circumstances have delayed the project a little, and it now looks like shipping of the deluxe 2-CD edition of 'The Neon Live' will happen in the week of March 28th. Thanks for your patience, it is much appreciated as always!

ERASURE: 'THE NEON LIVE' DELUXE EDITIONS - 2-CD RELEASE AND SHIPPING UPDATE
I know it's boring and I know it's frustrating, and I also know that in the great scheme of things that are going on in the world at the moment it's not one of the most important, but ongoing covid-related delays to the 2-CD edition of 'The Neon Live' mean that stock won't be arriving in the Live Here Now and Lexer Music warehouses until next week. Apologies for the additional delay. As soon as the stock is delivered Lexer Music and Live Here Now will start shipping the 2-CD sets but we have changed the official release date to next Friday (April 8th) - I was never very comfortable with bringing the album out on April Fools Day anyway - which is the same day (April 8th) that anyone who has pre-ordered the deluxe 3-Vinyl edition or the super-deluxe 4-CD edition will receive their download of the 2-CD edition to keep you going until those formats ship later in the year. More details and pre-orders of all three formats are available from Live Here Now and Lexer Music.

The release day is almost here, how do those of us who ordered a format that will not be available for several months get the download on release day as it was promised? will we get a download code via email?

I got the link in the afternoon. The recording overall is pretty good, perhaps the vocals are a bit too echoey in places. Vince did some amazing work on some of the tracks. I feel extremely sorry for the thousands of fans who didn't have a chance to see this tour as the setlist was brilliant with so many songs that have been played that much like Turns the Love, Sacred, Fill Us with Fire, Save Me Darling. And some of the new tracks and the wonderful Love is a Stranger. I was a shame they didn't play Love is a Stranger followed by Love is a Loser. I am very happy they released this show as it will be years, if ever before we see them live again. The reason for the end of the tour is just heartbreaking.

I’ve been listening to the mp3s and it sounds great to me. No complaints with Live Here Now and their ability to get the audio right. This 2CD set is supposed to be the “best of” both nights, right? I find that odd since Andy flubbed the vocals for at least 4 tracks that I can remember. Push Me Shove Me comes to mind. Does that mean the other night’s versions were worse??
I do like the setlist and I’m happy to see Save Me Darling and TTLTA. I thought WNLLT sounded especially nice and punchy, and Push Me Shove Me not so much. Where was Vince’s guitar? That’s one of my favorite b-sides and the best use of guitar in any E song, and I don’t hear it. Speaking of b-sides, when was the last time E played a b-side on tour? Not even a (gasp!) new b-side but ANY b-side? Aside from the instrumental Jacques Cousteau (as a break) during their 2007 tour, the last actual b-side they’ve done live was The Soldier’s Return and GB&U during the PE Tour. The Neon Live setlist also skips Nightbird
All in all, a fine show and hopefully I’ll get to see them again on the next tour
