Yes, it's certainly better than the underwhelming a-side.
It's ok. First two listens underwhelming, but it gets a little better. Far from a classic though. Chris said on Radio 2 that there's a lot of reflective content on the new album and this was one of the few upbeat, so maybe it was Parlophone's choice as they wanted something fast and upbeat for the first single?

Through You doesn't really sound like a PSBs track to me!
Maybe this new album is the PSB’s ‘World Be Gone’?

It was interesting to hear them say it was "mostly written in lockdown (where we wrote a lot of tracks)" as I thought they wrote the new album in 2023!

INFO

UK electronic pop icons Pet Shop Boys return with a brand-new studio album Nonetheless, pressed exclusively to zoetrope picture disc, limited to 4,000 copies and hand-numbered to order.

Produced by James Ford, the music on Nonetheless is both uplifting and reflective, mixing electronics, live instruments, and orchestral arrangements. The songs are very melodic and quintessentially Pet Shop Boys with a fresh, open sound, bringing together classic strands of PSB song-writing and moving them in new directions

Having sold in excess of 50 million records, Pet Shop Boys are easily the most successful UK duo of all time. BRIT awards and Grammy nominations have been numerous, including in 2009 when Pet Shop Boys won the BRIT for outstanding contribution to music; in 2000 Pet Shop Boys’ song-writing was rewarded with the Ivor Novello award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music - with over 70 hit singles spanning five decades, song-writing remains resolutely at the core of Pet Shop Boys’ continuing relevance and success.

Yes, it's pretty nifty.

However, I have to say that the others Blood has produced make MUCH more use of the medium than just alternating text. Virtually every other zoetrope picture disc puts the PSB one to shame. James, Oasis, Muse, you pick. The videos of them playing are amazing. I can easily imagine collecting those just to watch them show their music videos on my turntable.

I know we've come to expect the Saville-esque minimalism for PSB, but a zoetrope disc demands more use of the canvas if you're going to do one. I'm sorry I missed buying this one, but I don't think I'll lose sleep over it now. Really, if there were an obvious PSB release to release in this medium, it would be I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing as the sleeve art kinda evokes that already. Yeah,I have to say I'd pop that on my turntable more than Nonetheless.

Obviously, I do hope Mute and/or BMG can license Erasure releases to Blood. I'm giddy with excitement to think of how great some of those could be as they wouldn't hold back as much on using the effect.

I mean, just imagine what they could do with Erasure art and videos! The Chorus MRIs alone...

I don’t expect Saville-anything for them. They work with Farrow. x

Yes they do. And Mark's work is similarly minimalist and well-known to us. Perhaps not as well-known as Peter's, though. Hence, my using "esque" and not actually citing him as the artist. ;)
