I love the quote where Vince says he never uses the black notes. I guess after that interview, he started expanding his horizons. If you start with B-flat (the 3rd black key in the set of 3 black piano keys) and go down using only black keys, you can play The Soldier's Return. I always wondered if that's how that song was written, with Vince just messing around with on the black keys and coming up with the melody!
