I mentioned in last week's newsletter that there was some exciting news in the pipeline, and I am thrilled to be able to tell you that Vince Clarke, with Reed Hays, will be playing a very special concert in London on Friday 17th November to mark the release of his 'Songs of Silence' album which comes out the same day. We're just dotting the i's and crossing the t's with the venue before I can announce all the details, but we did want to give you a heads up now so you can keep the date free if you fancy coming along. What I can tell you is that Vince will be performing 'Songs of Silence' in its entirety, alongside some extra tracks from the project; that support will come from Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones' Sunroof; and that the show will take place in a small central London venue on the evening of Friday 17th November. More soon...

Sounds like a wonderful night. I hope it will get a proper recording for those of us who can’t make it!

As much as I'd love to hop a flight over, it's not in the cards.

I just hope the whole thing is filmed as if I was there (including trying to chat up a pretty face, and just getting drunk after failing).

VINCE CLARKE: VINCE CLARKE 'SONGS OF SILENCE' LIVE AT THE LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS ON 17TH NOVEMBER - TICKETS GO ONSALE THIS SUNDAY!
As you know from last week's newsletter, Vince Clarke will be launching his 'Songs of Silence' project alongside collaborator Reed Hays at a very special London concert on album release day, Friday 17th November, so I hope that you already have that date in your diary? That show - which will also feature Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones' Sunroof in support - will take place at the London School of Economics in central London and tickets will go onsale online this Sunday (15th October) at midday (UK). To give newsletter subscribers the best possible chance of getting hold of tickets we won't be announcing these details on social media, or anywhere else, until after the tickets are onsale on Sunday afternoon to give you a window to get tickets first. It's a small show in a very cool venue and it should be a great night.

If you're keen to come along then, in advance of tickets going onsale on Sunday, I suggest you sign-up for an Eventbrite account in advance (if you don't have one already of course!) so you don't have to be flapping around setting that up while you're trying to buy your tickets. With the exception of wheelchair tickets - which also include admission for a carer - tickets are all general admission standing and both general admission and wheelchair tickets will cost £25 each, inclusive of service and booking fees. The tickets will be available to buy (up to four tickets per transaction) only from the dedicated Eventbrite page which will appear online here (the page may not display properly until the sale starts on Sunday!) and won't be available from the venue itself or from anywhere else. Vince will be performing 'Songs of Silence' in its entirety, alongside some extra tracks from that project. I hope that covers everything... good luck everyone! :-)

VINCE CLARKE: 'SONGS OF SILENCE - LIVE AT THE LSE' - TICKETS + MERCHANDISE + SIGNED ALBUMS
There are still some tickets remaining for Vince Clarke's live show at the LSE on Friday November 17th and I am pleased to announce that Vince has agreed to sign some vinyl and CD copies of 'Songs of Silence' in advance of the show, and those copies will be available to buy from the merchandise stall on the night. For those of you who have also been asking about the possibility of 'Songs of Silence - Live at the LSE' merchandise items being available then I am also pleased to be able to report that we will have a limited number of show t-shirts available on the night alongside another signed merchandise item which I will tell you more about soon. 'Songs of Silence - Live at the LSE' takes place in central London on Friday November 17th, support come from Sunroof - Daniel Miller (The Normal, Mute Records etc) & Gareth Jones' (artist, producer, engineer, remixer for Erasure, Depeche Mode etc) - and tickets are available here while we have them. And before you ask, yes, any signed 'Songs of Silence' albums, event t-shirts or merchandise items that are left over after the event will be made available to buy online, but no we can't reserve any of those items for you in advance...

VINCE CLARKE: 'SONGS OF SILENCE - LIVE AT THE LSESU' - FINAL TICKETS AVAILABLE
I honestly expected to be reporting today that Vince Clarke's solo show at the London School of Economics Students Union next Friday (November 17th) was sold out, but actually there have been a few returns which means there are a very small number of tickets still available should you want to pop along but haven't yet purchased a ticket... but please do be quick! The evening will consist of a performance from Daniel Miller & Gareth Jones' Sunroof, followed by Vince - joined onstage by Reed Hays - performing 'Songs of Silence' in its entirety alongside some additional material from the project. It's shaping up to be a very special night and I look forward to seeing lots of you there. Vince's show will use a lot of visuals and each track will be accompanied by a dedicated video which has been created or commissioned for the event by Vince (alongside the videos you've already seen for 'The Lamentations of Jeremiah' and 'White Rabbit'), a theme which we've picked up for the second merchandise item we have produced for the event (last week I told you about the first item, a limited-edition event t-shirt) which is a pack of ten high-quality postcards - one for each track on 'Songs of Silence' - which use imagery from those videos. And as a special bonus Vince has agreed to sign a number of sets for sale on the night (as well as some vinyl and CD copies of the album) with any leftover stock of the postcard set, the album, or the t-shirts being made available online at some point after the show. There's just one week to go and the final tickets are available here-

I was lucky enough to go to the album launch day gig in London for Songs Of Silence.
Support from Daniel Miller & Gareth Jones as ‘Sunroof’.

Image

Vince was joined onstage by Reed Hayes who played alongside Vince throughout the set, which was all 10 tracks from ‘Songs Of Silence’ plus two non album tracks firstly ‘The Cave’ taken from the Electronic Sounds Magazine clear vinyl 7” & unreleased track ‘Drone 8’.

Image

Also appearing on ‘Passage’ we had the vocal talents of Sarah-Jane Morris (a name you should all know from the Communards classic duet ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’)
Merchandise at the gig comprised of signed albums in CD/Vinyl formats,a set of 10 postcards (signed) and a tee shirt.

Plus for the first time I managed to get a photo with Val (Emma was about but eluded me)
