Interesting that they’ve decided to retroactively add BONG catalogue numbers to these singles after deciding not to do so upon their initial release…

Interesting that they’ve decided to retroactively add BONG catalogue numbers to these singles after deciding not to do so upon their initial release…

Nice touch, but I still find it stupid that they hamstring these by not expanding them to include added mixes and additional b-sides from each era, even if just the commercial ones from the time. I appreciate Brat's work, but them having rights to more but choosing not to "break format" on by not adhering to the 1:1 reproduction intent still boggles the mind.

I felt that way with the first set, and still do now. At least Mute had an excuse for the EBX sets at the time as they really didn't have as much access as BMG later for FMTM. Here Sony has everything, don't they? That catalogue acquisition was for everything that Mute AND Warner had, yes? I mean they are in bed with Warner via Rhino who has all access to all WMG stuff including all Sire, which I feel Sony is kinda licensing back to them, so no impediment to expanding these with Sire mixes, Sire's live recordings, etc, etc. Same with Columbia's promos, and tracks from foreign single releases. Keep the art on these, add extra tracks, or an extra disc, and obviously increase sales.

Really, the recent "white label" 12"s for Memento Mori ought to have a box you can mail away for by now. Only fair.
