Nice, Nightbird-esque for me.

Re: How Many Times (Alternative Mix)
I really love the original, but this version is equally as good, for me me sounds more ‘Vince’ and it’s now clear where the “it gets me nowhere” ad lib vocals from the Wild! Tour came from.

Re: How Many Times (Alternative Mix)
I'm thinking 'studio session' rather than 'alternative mix' might have been a better description.
This doesn't sound too much like an alternate take from the Wild! recordings to me, but more like a 'finished' studio demo. It's got that kind of raw, straight out of the sequencer quality to it, and lacks the sheen a producer and mixer would bring to it.
I'm not complaining mind, it's a very welcome inclusion. Wish there was more of them!

Felt the same within the first 5 seconds. Still, I'm glad we have it as well.kwerty wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2019 7:31 pm I'm thinking 'studio session' rather than 'alternative mix' might have been a better description.

I haven't given it a listen yet, but from the remarks above it gives me hope that the similarly-named Dreamlike State (Alternative Mix) will be along the same lines of a polished studio demo.
Re: How Many Times (Alternative Mix)
Nice mix, prefer the original though would be nice to hear it live again after all those years
Re: How Many Times (Alternative Mix)
Well, Dreamlike State is billed as the 'A Cappella Mix', not 'alternative mix'.mrblue wrote: Fri Mar 22, 2019 7:31 pm I haven't given it a listen yet, but from the remarks above it gives me hope that the similarly-named Dreamlike State (Alternative Mix) will be along the same lines of a polished studio demo.
If I were to take it literally, I'd expect it to be JUST the vocals from the original. Just Andy singing and nothing else.
If not from the original, then perhaps another recording or even a demo ... of just Andy singing the lyrics and nothing else.
Of course, it's not unknown for mixes to be billed as 'A Cappella' and have some minimal musical backing, so it could be a stripped down version. Maybe no percussion or bass. Or JUST percussion and prominent vocals.
...or it's the 12 hour Technicolor Remix under a different name.
But nah.. they wouldn't do that would they? Not so soon after doing EXACTLY that with the same song for the Moscow To Mars bonuses? (and that time it WAS billed as the 'Alternative Mix')

Re: How Many Times (Alternative Mix)
It seems a bit odd that they release the very few new versions on Apple Music before the release, as they quite probably are the only reason for fans to buy the release.
