EIS Newsletter

I have said before that it will be a while before we bring you any specific news about the new Erasure project, and that is still the case, but I did just want to mention that work on the album has been going extremely well and the band are excited about how everything is sounding. It's also possible that the album now has a title. Andy and Vince have settled on one from their shortlist of possible options and are currently living with it for a while to see if it fits. As ever, none of this is intended as a tease (well, maybe a little bit, you know what I'm like!), but instead it's designed to assure you that work is in progress, and to remind you that we will share more information when everything is properly in place.

That's as much as I can tell you about that right now, but here's everything I have for you today...

I was hoping for a bit more info - last Erasure Info email was almost 4 weeks ago! Longest time between newsletters for a while.

If by some chance the album is titled "Here, already", we might have some idea of a theme...

Remember the gap between Wild! and Chorus? Felt like forever waiting back then. I hope this one puts them back on the map, gets them the attention they deserve, more than The Neon did.

ERASURE: TUNE IN TO BBC RADIO 2'S BREAKFAST SHOW ON MONDAY TO HEAR SARA COX KICK OFF THE BRAND NEW ERASURE PROJECT (AND AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY TO HEAR ANDY BELL CHATTING TO GARY DAVIES!)

Yes, you read that right... the time has finally come for us to launch the new Erasure project, and what better way to kick that off than in partnership with Europe's most listened-to radio show, The Sara Cox Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2. The show kicks off at 6.30am (UK) on Monday (28th September) and runs until 9.30am (UK) and in addition to all the regular features, Sara Cox will be making some very special Erasure announcements. It is almost always the way that we announce Erasure news in this newsletter first, but the opportunity to work with BBC Radio 2 was too exciting to not take them up on this one. And if you're not able to tune-in on Monday morning then never fear, not only will the show be available via the BBC Sounds catch-up service for 30 days after broadcast, but I will also be sending an email newsletter out shortly after the show which will fill you all in on EVERYTHING in much more detail that will be possible on the radio.

And while I'm asking you to make yourself available for things, as a follow-up to Monday's news our very own Andy Bell will be appearing on The Sara Cox Breakfast Show on Wednesday (30th September). The show will be hosted by Gary Davies on that day, and Gary will be catching up with Andy in an exclusive live interview which will also be available to hear via BBC Sounds for 30 days after broadcast. Oh, and while I'm talking about Wednesday, I strongly recommend that you make sure that you clear some time in your schedule and arrange to have access to a computer on Wednesday morning. Please don't ask me to elaborate, that's already more than I'm supposed to tell you! ;-)

So, to recap... tune in to Sara Cox on BBC Radio 2 on Monday morning for some special Erasure announcements; tune in to Gary Davies on BBC Radio 2 on Wednesday morning to hear Andy Bell talking all things Erasure; and expect a substantial newsletter from me on Monday morning which will be full of information designed to make you smile.
