ABOUT THE EP
SoftWave is releasing a new digital “bubbly” EP, 'Aspire'.
The new ideas really began to bubble to the surface after SoftWave was recognized by the idol, Erasure's Andy Bell, where SoftWave had the honour of making 2 remixes for the sold-out LP ('Club Torsten') which ended up on the UK OFFICIAL CHARTS.
Before that, SoftWave was personally selected as support by the million-selling OMD for their Scandinavian leg of the Souvenir tour. From SoftWave's several years of hard work, there was no doubt about the title for their new aspiring EP 'Aspire', which contains their best productions so far.
The EP is something very special.
All 5 songs have their own vulnerable and meaningful struggle story that seeks to inspire and motivate others to reach new heights.
There is something for everyone.
The happy breakup song 'Thank You For Breaking My Heart', the song for the idol 'Supernova', the anti-bullying song for the bully 'Don't Bully Me Again', the song for the B person 'Wake Up' and for the more serious person who likes to reflect on the world situation 'This World'.
Thank You For Breaking My Heart
”Thank You For Breaking My Heart” is a classic electropop song in the very best sense – we are talking familiar, wellknown synthpop territory with loads of majestic hardware and software synthesizer sounds – laid on a supercatchy and elegant popsong.
Supernova
During the production of 'Supernova', details have been cared for in an unprecedented way; from choice of sounds, beats etc., to Catrine’s singing technic – and the SoftWave universe is now further expanded with this banger of a strong pop single, which should by all accounts give its listeners a familiar feeling and not least the urge to go out on a night on the town – perhaps even go to a concert to revisit their idols? That’s how the lyrics was created in the first place, after all.
Don’t Bully Me Again
"Don't Bully Me Again" is written directly to the bully by the victim. A personal story that goes back to the childhood of a girl that against all odds grew up as a power-woman. When they meet again as adults, the victim realises the bully hasn't changed. She felt a need to share her story and wrote this antibully-song. It will gain nationwide exposure after Softwave's collaboration with the popular Danish influencer Nicolai A.
Wake Up
The perfect WakeUp-song to those who struggles getting out of bed at early mornings.
This World
SoftWave encourage the listeners to drag attention to the mood in the lyrics and musically to reflect on the subject in their own way.

SoftWave are planning a tour in 2023 along with a followup on the EP.

1. Thank You For Breaking My Heart
The oldest track from the EP released very early into 2022,complete with a full official video, typical SoftWave that we know & love. A love song about heartbreak which leads to a whole new world of possibilities.
A singalong chorus which complements the subtle synth backing.
2. Supernova

The Erasure4rum review of ‘Supernova’ is here-

The 2nd release from the EP and I’ve given my opinion in the above E4M feature, still one of my favourites. Plus as a bonus it’s about the very same Andy Bell we celebrate on Erasure4rum.
3. Don’t Bully Me Again
The first of the 3 unheard tracks to grace this EP.
My favourite of the new tracks, but saying that it’s a very tough choice as all 3 are superb.
Being bullied is something that shouldn’t happen, but it’s something we can’t control,if you’ve been a victim you’ll understand, which is why this track seems to pack such a punch. Gerry has made a perfect backdrop for Catrine’s beautiful vocal delivery, such a great Synthpop song which could very well become a classic, great sounds great lyrics ….. just great!
4. Wake Up
The perfect WakeUp-song to those who struggles getting out of bed at early mornings-SoftWave
It’s does exactly what it says on the tin!,from the opening synth riffs and into the driving beat just the right amount of a kick start you get from a good Espresso (other high caffeine drinks are available). Quite a few big Vince Clarke-Esque synth bleeps from Gerry, the
5. This World
The closing track, and what a way to go out. A lyric from Catrine about the world we are living in at this point in time.
References to the Pandemic and all the problems that come with it,and a positive message to help us get out of this low point in the Worlds history.
“People let’s work together and see the light at the end of the tunnel”
This track I could see as a closing track on any Erasure album especially reminiscent of ‘Dark Angel’ from Light At The End Of The World it has that dark yet uplifting sound.
If this EP is the future of SoftWave then the future looks bright.
