A very special, strictly limited edition, vinyl only release, ‘Club Torsten!’ is pressed on translucent shocking pink vinyl and is a celebration of the uplifting, dancier, synth-pop side of Andy Bell’s acclaimed side-project ‘Andy Bell is Torsten’.
Andy Bell says, “I can’t wait to hear ‘Club Torsten!’ in a real club when all this clears and we can dance again. Electronic-pop heaven!”
This mail order only collectible is exclusively available through Cherry Red Records. With the accent firmly on the upbeat, the infectiously melodic and on glorious electronic dance-pop, this 12 track bounty is as complementary to Andy Bell’s signature Erasure sound that musical theatre and dramatic chanson can get!
‘Club Torsten!’ includes, for the very first time ever on vinyl, the highlights and fan favourites of the much loved ‘Andy Bell is Torsten’ project and their dance orientated remix trilogy ‘Variance I, II and III’, the first volume of which is itself long out of print and a much sought after rarity. The stellar remixers collected together in ‘Club Torsten!’ include dancefloor electro-pop legends of the ilk of Vince Clarke, Matt Pop, Bronski Beat and Barry Harris as well as two hardy perennials of the UK’s contemporary synth-pop scene, Shelter and Dancing With Ruby. But that’s not all!….
‘Club Torsten!’ also has three completely brand new synth-pop dance remixes that have never been heard before and which are only on ‘Club Torsten!’ Two highly catchy, deeply melodic ‘Electro-Noir’ remixes by Danish synth-scene stalwarts SoftWave plus an exclusive remix of ‘Judgement’ by Cyber Monday.
The vibrant album sleeve illustration is an exclusive, specially commissioned, artwork designed by celebrated record sleeve designer and illustrator Meriel Waissman in liaison with Andy himself. It depicts Andy Bell in his revered role as Torsten surrounded by choice props from the stage shows beloved by all Andy Bell is Torsten fans!
