Lyrics-

Oh, woh

Today is the first day
of the rest of your life
And I think the moment's right
to plan your party

Today is your birthday
And for you I baked this cake
I did it to celebrate
celebrate you

I sing you this song baby
It's a prayer for you that maybe
you can find some peace
and finally sleep

It would never be so sad
it would never be so cold
this is the promise I swear
to you Matthew, oh, Matthew

Tomorrow's a new day
and if I could change a thing
I'd tell the whole world
just what you mean to me

It happens just once a year
so I plan a holyday
I'll make the most of it
This is Matthew's day

I'll wait for you to come home
I'll be there for you
I swear to you
I will carry you
I will carry you

Things will never be so right
Things will never be so wrong
I will carry the message for you
Matthew, oh, Matthew
Matthew, oh, Matthew

Woooooah...

This is Matthew's day

Today is the first day...
