I only have the UK 7" and UK 12" remixes of this as far as vinyl goes. Is the audio quality much better on the standard UK 12"? I assume it is, but the shipping prices these days...

(I also have the US CD, US cassette, and US VHS... what's left to own?)

  • UK ERAS Club Promo 12" (Original copyright-infringing remixes)
  • USA White Label Promo 12" (Same mixes as above)
  • USA TACOM Promo CD5" (Rap-less edits)

June 1, 1992 was the release date for this EP and I’m starting to wonder whether Mute will release anything to celebrate the 30 year anniversary. My wish would be:

1. Cleaned up copy of Tank, Swan, Balloon on Blue-Ray
2. The remaster EP and club mixes on vinyl

I imagine this is unlikely though. Any guesses?

How about the two 'unreleased' tracks? Around 1992 I was friends with someone who worked as a remixer and he claimed at the time he was asked to remix Erasure's Summer Night City which was going to part of a 6-track release. Never happened, ended up as a 4-track instead. The other rumoured track was Mamma Mia, which might also be the reason Andy was singing parts of it live.

I'm not sure the band actually recorded those two tracks, but they were two which were originally proposed and/or scrapped, or so I was told!

Anyone else know more?

I remember Andy talking in an interview about 2 other songs. I thought they were not singles, Tiger and That's me spring to mind, but I may be wrong. I don't think they were recorded as they seemed odd choices as they were album tracks.

Two unreleased ABBA-esque tracks?? Yes please! @moxxey if what you say is true, those would be amazing to hear! I'm sure they considered so many tracks and those two seem like natural fits. I'm sure they kept the EP to 4 tracks to ensure UK single placement, but it's exciting to think about other recorded demos buried somewhere.
