If they are working on vocals soon, based on The Neon timeline, where the vocals were recorded in January 2020, we could easily see a release this Autumn. I'm sure Richard said we shouldn't expect new Erasure music in 2023 though!

I wasn't expecting this kind of news for at least another year. This is awesome!!!

I think reading between the lines, Mute would want to be happy it's the right time to release an album and the boys can back it. Maybe Richard was right when he said earlier in the year not to expect new music in 2023,

Still amazed Vince has an album-worth of music though. He's been busy than we all thought!

Even though work on the album has been progressing faster than expected, it could be that they have an agreed-to timeline where Andy’s work with Dave Aude comes first, along with his summer festival shows, etc.

All will be revealed eventually!!

I replied in February saying it was interesting that Vince has basically 'written' the album without any Andy input (my opinion here is that's less than ideal as some of their better work was always when they wrote together), but more interesting is that it's nearly July and Andy is effectively admitting he's not even started the vocal work (and has a busy summer schedule).

I can't see a new album until Q2 2024 at the earliest.

I just hope they take their time and not rush it. And I agree they should collaborate in-person more before saying all the songs are basically done. A 12 or 14 track album would be a nice change, perhaps with some interstitials or instrumentals. Just a bit more something than another cookie cutter 10-track album.
