Where is the Oh l'amour single? That wasn't included in EBX7 and it's not as though it was simply a rehash of the original single...

The Oh L'amour single is already available separately, which is probably why it hasn't been included.

No doubt it's the same reason Rock Me Gently wasn't in the previous EBX releases - it was all already available digitally.

I get the impression the point of these digital EXB releases is to make missing tracks and releases from Erasure's back catalogue available. If singles are already there in full then they are probably not going to 'skip' them for these sets.

I noticed that the version of Breathe is the album version and not Breathe [Radio version] which is a slightly different mix e.g different intro etc
As it's s Singles boxset it would have been nicer to have here instead album version is what gets used elsewhere it seems. Oh well.

Well the Radio Version of Breathe weren't on the original CD One of the set from where they have compiled this from. It was to be found on the DVD that had the video and one other mix. If memory recalls right.

The radio version of Breathe was originally available as an individual digital download - and it still is! Which is probably why it's not in the set, as it's already there to purchase separately if you want it, and always has been.

In fact, if I recall correctly, this version of Breath was the VERY FIRST Erasure track to be available as a digital download.

And you're right, it was also on the DVD.

If I recall, didn't Mute have some vaulted site where you could buy it from them and - at the time at least - you could use your credit or debit card plus the innovation of using your mobile phone credit for the code. When you ordered you got an mp3 file (can't remember wether it was 320kbps but it was a high resolution one) plus a printable pdf to create a "J-Card" style singles sheet as they knew people burned the track onto CDRs.

P.S. The additional track was Mr. Gribber and His Amazing Cat on the DVD from remembering now.

I don't recall there being anything quite so complicated to get the Breathe track, and I don't remember ever having to use my mobile phone to make a purchase (maybe there was a ringtone though?). It was just available to buy from iTunes etc.

What I AM remembering is that there was a Mark Towns remix of Oh L'amour to coincide with the HITS album which was exclusively available as a digital download, and I think there was a PDF with that. I'm thinking that is what you are remembering, which was an exclusive and NOT available from download stores as far as I remember.

Yes. The track listing for the DVD was:

01 "Breathe" (Radio Version)
02 "Mr. Gribber and His Amazing Cat"
03 "Breathe" DVD Music Video.

What I'd say IS missing though are the radio mixes of "Solsbury Hill" and "Don't Say You Love Me".

Both of those were on their respective DVD editions, and unlike the "Breathe" radio mix, are NOT available individually.

Considering SOME tracks from the DVD singles ARE included, I'm not sure what the logic is for not including them.

EDIT: The standard Single Mix of DSYL (aka the Jeremy Wheatley Single Mix) is also NOT in this set, but it IS available individually.

It was a lazy release, not remastered, and I agree all versions of the songs should be included in the spirit of the series. I am despite all this happy that they released it, but would have preferred the old style boxes
