EIS newsletter 17th January 2020
I am delighted to report that the mixing sessions for the new Erasure album are going splendidly and that process should be complete within the week, which is exciting news indeed. The next stage will be the scheduling of the album as well as the other various parts of the project, a process that has already begun, but will be fine-tuned over the next few weeks. However, despite all this behind-the-scenes activity, I do need to warn you that it's still going to be a while before we announce any specific album or tour news...

If I could have any wish granted related to the upcoming album, I would wish that the word "baby" DOES NOT APPEAR even once in any of the lyrics.
Edit: Let me go ahead and add the word "tentacle" to that list as well!

If there's a song about families being separated at the border with Mexico -- babies being ripped from their parents' arms -- then "baby" would be ok I think!!

lmao - ok if Andy is singing about an actual baby, I suppose it's ok. However, that sounds like it would be a sad song Mikey and I listen to Erasure to be happy!
I just hope Andy will substitute "sweetie" or "honey" or even "mein schatz" instead of "baby" because it was noticeably too much on WBG.
Think about it, baby.

Some of the best Erasure songs are sad songs!!

Very true Mikey. Maybe "bittersweet" would be a better term than "sad" for me. I totally know what you mean, though.
All kidding aside about lyrics, baby, I would really like to see a reasonably priced deluxe edition of the album. I'm thinking specifically of the Violet Flame box. You had the album, a CD of mixes, a CD of live tracks plus the VF megamix for pre-ordering all for iirc around $55. I think that's a very fair price for a great package. And like others have said, leave out the fluff like candies or shot glasses or whatever. I think most of us would prefer those left out to keep costs down, and let's focus on the music. Lots of it!

The biggest news I have for you this week is that not only is the new Erasure album now mixed and ready to go, but that I was also lucky enough to meet up with Andy and Vince and we've come up with all sorts of Erasure Information Service ideas which we will start to explore properly over the next few weeks. As I said in last week's newsletter, official announcements about the album or about any live shows are still some way off, but I did want to let you know that plans are afoot and, as always, we are trying to put the fans at the very centre of everything we do, wherever we can. Exciting times...

Master craftsmen at work! I admit I don't know much about David Wrench but I trust he's doing a great job. Do we know what other artists, electronic or otherwise, he's worked with?
