It took some listens to get into this, after first listen I was a bit on the fence but now I can't get it out of my head and think it's brilliant! I'd only wish for a better intro though. Maybe it'll be on the album since it's the first track? I hear nods to "I loose myself", "I like it", "Knocking on your door" and a bit of "Symphony" in it.

... "walk through the city singing hallelujah" gives me goosebumps

So much looking forward to The Neon! (cool title).

Also, did someone else notice the lovely piece of music playing in the background during the last two minutes of countdown to the youtube premiere? Could it be taken from Neon or was it one of the future b-sides?

Ken Bruce has been bigging up the play of the new Erasure single all morning on his show! He's mentioned it 3 times so far.

I think it's going to get played soon (it's 11am and not played yet...).

Update. Was played at 11.15am. Ken Bruce talked about the new album and played the single. Seemed like a slightly different mix (or maybe it's just me!).

I like Hey Now but I feel like it is very lacking lyrically. Even the title seems half-hearted. There are some songs where I feel like Andy really phoned it in - for instance Rain and Love You To The Sky, both album starters for that matter. Each time I listen to it, I can't help but wonder "what is this song even about??" It almost seems like each line is unrelated to the ones before it. Am I the only one who thinks this? I don't mean to sound cranky, and no I can't do any better! I can't be easy coming up with new ideas for lyrics, but sometimes I wish Andy would try a bit harder. That said, at least there aren't 30 uses of "baby" and I *DO* really like the song! (just not the lyrics)

Then read what that so called ‘official promo’ says it’s called.
