Pet Shop Boys
Re: Pet Shop Boys
It's a beautiful album. Opener "Will-o-the-wisp" is a wild queer electronic pop sleaze extravaganza... "You are the one" and "Only the dark" are downtempo stunners... "I don't wanna" is a great synth pop standout... "Happy People" is a euphoric yet sad return to early 90s house and could've been on their Very album... and "Wedding in Berlin" is a "WTF??" wedding disco bizarre oddity but it works if you go into it thinking that way (and apparently sounds like much of the Berlin techno these days at infamous club Berghaine). Check it out!
Re: Pet Shop Boys
I think it's a pretty good overall, though I've only given it one listen so far. Will-o-the-Wisp is an incredible opener and Monkey Business (though it's not quite my style exactly) definitely means business, contrary to its title. That track is pumped. Wedding in Berlin I suspect will be played at MANY a wedding this year
Glad to see Neil & Chris still making great music!

I Don't Wanna is my pick, followed by Will O' The Wisp, and Happy People. The latter two are clearly fanservice, and reach back a bit in style; especially with Happy People.

Couldn't agree more Tin. I'm quite liking all the tracks you mentioned and find the album to be much better than Super. Simply couldn't get into that album. Bring on the tour!Tin Soldier wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2020 11:20 pm I Don't Wanna is my pick, followed by Will O' The Wisp, and Happy People. Boy, oh boy, do I wish the MSG tix were more reasonable. This year may break me (in a variety of ways).

Now curious about the PSB & New Order UNITY TOUR!! It’s scheduled for September in North America so for now we’ll have to wait and see!
