Japan-Cardinal Connection (unreleased track)

Today I was lucky enough to be able to see & hold in my hands two guitars from the band Japan, the first one being David Sylvians first guitar he owned when he was 15 and used on tour and on the debut album, the second being Rob Dean’s guitar which he played on their Quiet Life album.
Thanks to Stephen Holden for allowing me to come and see his collection,he co wrote the book Adolescent Alternatives with Anthony Reynolds.
Also thanks to Sara for organising it for me as Stephen was her ex landlord the Japan connection wasn’t known until she moved out,it’s a small world.

If you’re a fan of Mick Karn’s slippery bass playing and have £7,000 or more to burning a hole in your pocket, you might want to investigate an auction being held by Burning Shed. They’re running the auction to sell the rare Revellation bass, made by respected British luthier Tony Revell and signed by Karn. The bass comes with a letter of authenticity from Mick’s widow, Kyoko Karn.
