Not unexpected. Can you imagine how hard it would be to get the tour support and keep it, throughout January & February? You only need your sound engineer to be isolating and you're in trouble, i guess.

super bummed because I was due to see them in Chicago, but I'd rather them push it back once we're past the current omicron surge and everyone can stay safe and healthy!

Received today as a US-based buyer who requested delivery instead of click-and-collect:
Beyond Merch wrote:Hi,

Thank you for your recent order for Erasure merch.

We are reaching out to all customers who recently placed an order to have Erasure merch shipped to them. In light of the recent announcement that the tour will be postponed, we are checking to see if customers are still happy to proceed with their orders. If you still want to go ahead with your order, you do not need to do anything. If you wish to cancel your order, please let us know by replying to this email (along with your 4 digit order number) by no later than 11pm EST on Thursday 13th January 2022.

For customers that have ordered the Neon Tour T-shirt, the back print will have the (now incorrect) January/February tour dates, rather than any rescheduled dates. Again, if you are happy to go ahead with your order, you do not need to do anything. If you wish to cancel that part of your order, please reply to this email by 11pm EST on Thursday 13th January 2022.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Regards

Entire Neon tour cancelled

Post by moxxey »

Just read the EIS newsletter:

"We are very sorry to announce that, due to unexpected family circumstances beyond anyone's control, we have had to make the extremely difficult decision to cancel the remaining stages of The Neon Tour and we will therefore no longer be playing our planned shows in the UK & Europe, South America or North America this year. Refunds are available at point of purchase."

Anyone know why?

Looks like everything is cancelled, even the forthcoming European and UK dates and 'rest of year' implies nothing will be re-scheduled either.

Doubt anyone here would know, if it's family related you'd imagine V&A would be wanting to keep that private. I just hope everything's alight. I'm sure we'll get to see them again soon.

Sometimes I have the brilliant job of being the first person to tell you about something exciting that is happing in the wonderful world of Erasure, but on the other hand sometimes it's down to me to be the bringer of bad news, and I'm afraid this newsletter falls firmly into the latter category.

We are so sorry to have to do this but at 3pm (UK) today we will be issuing the following statement about the upcoming UK & European, South American and North American legs of The Neon Tour, and we wanted you to hear it from us first before spotting it elsewhere.

Here's the statement:

"We are very sorry to announce that, due to unexpected family circumstances beyond anyone's control, we have had to make the extremely difficult decision to cancel the remaining stages of The Neon Tour and we will therefore no longer be playing our planned shows in the UK & Europe, South America or North America this year. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

Vince and Andy are both well and, although they are bitterly disappointed to be forced to cancel the rest of the tour, they would like to send their sincere apologies to anyone affected by the cancellations. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to being able to play to everyone again soon."

I will be back on Friday with your regular weekly newsletter in which I will be able address any recurring questions you may have about the logistics of refunds and so on. Sorry everyone.

Erasure. Always.

Richard

I just didn't have the heart to post about this this morning. I'm still depressed over it, but my thoughts are really with the guys, gals, and crew. I hope this family emergency is a precaution, and everyone gets through it ok.
