Manhattan Clique are a remix production duo consisting of Philip Larson & Chris Smith they were the musical half of Andy Bell's debut solo album 'Electric Blue'.
They also do many remixes for a vast array of artists from remixing Andy & Erasure all the way to Lady Gaga,OMD &
Boogaloo Stu.

The mainstay of their remixes and what seems a normal rule of thumb is that they do a radio edit,an extended remix & a dub/instrumental version. Most artists just use the extended or radio edit for general release,whereas any other alternate mixes may appear on promo versions ..... the most mixes ive found for an artist is Katy Perry's single 'E.T' where
there were 8 different mixes. Followed by Emeli Sande's 'Next To Me' US mixes came in at 6 mixes.

Some mixes have not been made available as yet,like the Larry Tee mix of 'Matthew' (The Manhattan Clique remix of Matthew has since been released as part of the digital download of the deluxe version of Andy Bell’s Electric Blue Deluxe Edition),or Chromeo's 'Needy Girl'.

BIOGRAPHY

Manhattan Clique are producers, remixers and writers Philip Larsen and Chris Smith.

They have worked with some of the biggest names in pop and dance, completing over 200 remixes in the last 10 years - highlights include Katy Perry, Emeli Sandé, Lady Gaga, Nicole Scherzinger, Britney Spears, Lily Allen, Example, Wretch 32, Carly Rae Jepsen and many more.

Their remixes are regularly in the Top 10 of dance, club and pop charts in the UK, US and Germany, whilst their remix edits are also wildly popular with radio stations, gaining support on BBC Radio 1, Kiss and Capital in the UK, plus across Rhythmic radio stations in the US.

Manhattan Clique have also worked with some of the biggest artists in Europe; from Germany's Frida Gold, Norway's Ida Maria, Holland's Esmée Denters, Russia's Valeriya to French megastar Mylene Farmer. Her duet with Moby, "Slipping Away" was Manhattan Clique's first #1 production, spending several weeks at the top of the French singles chart in 2006.

Manhattan Clique are unrivalled in their work with pioneering electronic acts, including OMD, Human League, Soft Cell and The B-52's. They co-wrote and produced Erasure frontman Andy Bell’s debut Electric Blue album. Philip Larsen has additionally won a Grammy award for his mix work on Kylie Minogue’s "Come Into My World".

Manhattan Clique featuring Lydia Kaye 'Torn In Two'



I'm sure that Manhattan Clique is no stranger to the dance-pop aficionados among you. The British production duo has remixed officially-commissioned dancefloor ragers for artists like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and many others. But the duo of Philip Larsen and Chris Smith has a whole lot more on their sleeves with big plans in the works.

Manhattan Clique will be unveiling their debut artist LP, entitled "This Should Have Been Easier," in 2014 that is introduced by the very good single "Torn In Two". It's a hook-laden stomper driven by a pulsing groove and splashy synths that shows off Manhattan Clique's unique sound in all of its glory. The single comes fully loaded with an additional remix from Bronx-based newcomers Trojan 101 and is available on UK iTunes now.

"'Torn In Two' began life a couple of years ago when we started demoing tracks for the Manhattan Clique album," the group writes me. "We kept getting waylaid by our hectic remix schedule, but always came back to this track as we felt it had a bit of je-ne-sais-quoi and we were very partial to Lydia Kaye's vocals."

They add, "This summer, we finally locked ourselves into the studio for a few days and focused on nailing it, feeling it was finally time for our debut single to see the light of day. We really love 'Torn In Two,' especially as to our ears, it doesn't really feel like anything else out there at the moment and captures the essence of the Manhattan Clique sound."
