ANDY BELL: ANNOUNCING 'EXTENDED BLUE', A 21ST ANNIVERSARY 3-VINYL EDITION OF ANDY BELL'S 2005 'ELECTRIC BLUE' ALBUM
if you're reading this newsletter then there's every chance that you are already aware of Andy Bell's solo project 'Electric Blue', which Andy embarked upon with his friends, the remix and production team Manhattan Clique, back in 2005. But if you don't know the album then don't feel bad, the label which originally released it collapsed more or less at the exact moment that 'Electric Blue' was released and the project pretty much vanished without trace, making it something of a lost classic. There have been a couple of reissues over the years, but never on vinyl... until today! To mark the 21st Anniversary of 'Electric Blue' I am very pleased to be able to announce 'Extended Blue' which will be released on 28th August and which features all the tracks from the original album alongside the b-sides from the original singles (which are available here on vinyl for the first time ever). Oh, and each of the three vinyl discs is pressed in a different blue, which makes it a very cool item indeed. Here's the 'Extended Blue' tracklisting...

'EXTENDED BLUE' TRIPLE-VINYL ALBUM - Vinyl 1: Intro / Caught in a Spin / Crazy / Love Oneself / I Thought It Was You / Electric Blue. Vinyl 2: Jealous / Shaking My Soul / Runaway / I'll Never Fall in Love Again / Delicious / Fantasy. Vinyl 3: See the Lights Go Out / The Rest of Our Lives / Jump / Back Into The Old Routine / Little Girl Lies / Names Change

The brand new 3-Vinyl 'Extended Blue' is available to pre-order from Lexer Music here, and the first 500 orders will also receive a bonus CD featuring an identical tracklisting to the vinyl, and which is cunningly designed to fit into 2020’s 3-CD 'Electric Blue' reissue. There is also a money-saving bundle available which features the 3-Vinyl album alongside some additional items. Please read on for more about those...

ANDY BELL: ALSO ANNOUNCING A BRAND NEW 12" 'EXTENDED BLUE' SINGLE FEATURING 'LOVE ONESELF' AND 'DELICIOUS' + BLUE AND PINK 'EXTENDED BLUE' T-SHIRTS
As if 'Extended Blue' isn't already enough, to ramp up the 21st anniversary celebrations even further there is also a brand new 12" vinyl single coming on 14th August featuring new Manhattan Clique reworks of the album's 'Love Oneself' and 'Delicious', both of which feature vocals from Propaganda's Claudia Brücken, as well as Andy's original versions of both tracks recorded prior to Claudia joining the project. The 'Love Oneself' / 'Delicious' 12" single, pressed on pink vinyl, is also available from Lexer Music which is where you will also find a 21st anniversary 'Electric Blue 21' t-shirt - in pink and in blue - which revisits the original 'Electric Blue' tour shirt from 2005. The shirt and the 12" single are also available in a money-saving bundle with the 3-Vinyl 'Extended Blue' here. And this is the single tracklisting...

ANDY BELL - EXTENDED BLUE - (DELUXE 3LP MULTICOLOUR BLUE VINYL ALBUM + 4 ART PRINT SET + LIMITED BONUS CD) - PRE-ORDER [2026-08-28]
CLQ-002
Pre-Order
Andy Bell - Extended Blue - (Deluxe 3LP MultiColour Blue Vinyl Album + 4 Art Print Set + Limited Bonus CD)

Erasure frontman and electronic pop legend Andy Bell is set to reissue his debut 2005 album ‘Electric Blue’ on 28th August 2026, on deluxe triple multicolour blue vinyl on Planet Clique with a 4 art print set, available as a pre-order bonus exclusively to Lexer Music.
The 3LP also comes with a free bonus CD of ‘Extended Blue’ with identical tracklisting to the vinyl, designed to fit into 2020’s triple CD reissue, which will be included with the first 500 pre-orders only.
Retitled Extended Blue, the album will be preceded on 14th August by a very belated third single release from the album: a double A-side featuring brand-new 2026 mixes of ‘Love Oneself’ and ‘Delicious’, both featuring duet vocals from Claudia Brücken. Originally inspired by Donna Summer and Patrick Cowley, the new sixteen-minute remix of Love Oneself pays homage to the glorious late 1970s disco era when the pre-release 12” extended mix was always the most highly anticipated arrival for club DJs and their audiences around the world.
As well as featuring xPropaganda’s Claudia Brücken, Extended Blue features a duet with Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears on the riotous I Thought It Was You. Meanwhile, all the additional bonus tracks and B-sides from the Electric Blue sessions have been added for the first time on vinyl. The package includes a deluxe booklet with extensive liner notes by Classic Pop writer John Earls, offering insight into the recording of the album in London, featuring new interviews with Andy Bell and producers Philip Larsen and Chris Smith of Manhattan Clique. Sleeve artwork, by designer James McWilliam, includes previously unseen photos from the original 2005 photo session with celebrated British photographer Tim Flach.
Electric Blue was co-written and produced by Manhattan Clique, who dominated the pop-dance club remix world for two decades from the early 2000s, working with the likes of Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, OneRepublic, Moby and many more. The duo have also worked with many seminal electronic acts including The Human League, Soft Cell, OMD, The B-52s, and of course Erasure.
Featuring the UK Top 40 hit 'Crazy', which also topped dance club charts around the world, Electric Blue appeared destined for international success. However, its release was hampered when its label, Sanctuary Records, effectively imploded at the same time, preventing the album from receiving worldwide promotion and exposure.
Now available on vinyl for the first time since its original release in October 2005, Electric Blue is widely regarded by Erasure fans—and wider lovers of electronic music—as a lost gem: an outstanding album that was simply released at the wrong time.
Andy Bell’s most recent solo album Ten Crowns reached the Top 10 in 2025, while Vince Clarke and Andy are currently recording the next, as yet untitled, Erasure album. Claudia Brücken, as part of xPropaganda, continues to tour and release new material, while Jake Shears is now fronting Scissor Sisters again since their reunion in 2025.
NB: All products ordered with a pre-order will be dispatched together close to the latest pre-order release date. If you want earlier dispatched for another product then please place separate order(s).
"Andy Bell - Extended Blue", is out Friday, 28th August 2026 on Renegade Music and available for pre-order now.

The T-shirt is a special limited commemorative edition, available in navy blue or pink, celebrating the Roland 101 synthesiers, which much of Electric Blue was recorded on. Sold out after the original album release, the design has been updated to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Electric Blue. It was worn by Andy on some of the Electric Blue tour dates back in 2005.

I'm a bit surprised we're getting this again so soon and not a remastered and expanded "Non-Stop" or "Loveboat"

So soon? 2017 was a staggering 9 years ago and this isn't from Mute either (who control the Erasure releases).

Be positive, in the Classic Pop interview Andy hints that the new album (or Erasure 2026 plans, hard to tell which he's referring to) ais 'fantastic'. He's also hinted an alternative Erasure concert where he gets to sing rather than the regular hits, so could end up with a Pet Shop Boys Obscure b-sides style concert (although how Andy would remember the words is another issue).

I’d be ok with him using an iPad for help with lyrics. 😎

To be fair most of the newer mixes especially the ‘Electric Dub’ will be hard to beat.
I think you're responding to the wrong part there Pughie. I don't care if they release an Extended Electric Blue (I'm sure that's MH's idea, not Andy's and I'm guessing 'Extended' simply means longer remixed and modernised versions reworked by MH for 2026)...

I'm saying there's a lot of positive stuff to come this year based on that interview and that's what we're here for mostly, Erasure. Andy saying it's 'fantastic' is great news. Still not sure if he meant the album or the plans though.

Exactly,it’s the original album,plus 4 b sides.
This and the limited edition of 500 CD’s (that have almost gone) is exactly the same tracklisting as vinyl & the same as CD1 from the 2017 3 disc set.
The only ‘new’ material from this preorder are the 2 new 2026 Manhattan Clique mixes from the 12” single, the other 2 tracks are the same Andy only vocal from the 3 disc 2017 set. The press release does state they are Andy only from before Claudia got involved but that isn’t the case as you can hear her in the mix.
