Like I said in the other thread, this jives with what Vince had imparted at the Reed & Caroline gig...at least in regards to the US.

If Vince was suggesting the first single is due next May(ish!), then I'd assume the album will be out Summer. Ok, a bit of a delay between new album and concert, but I guess it's only 6 months?

It just seems so far away. The Robbie tour is just a few weeks and then maybe the will hopefully do some promotions for the album. But next year seems like a long time away and I haven't even gone through 2017

Vince is a family man. He's not going to miss being a Dad in the formative years if he can help it.

Really, as much as I want more touring, and a better kind, he made it clear he's making compromises so he can have that time. I don't blame him one bit...just his son. ;)

That's exciting for our UK members!! Whoo hooo!

So I just listened to the hour and 13 minutes of the holiday wishes and Questions and Answers... and they gave great answers to almost every question (Vince is TOO funny!) but of course to my question, Vince answered "I really can't remember. Sorry."   ;D ;D ;D

Just wondering what venues the 3 pre-Robbie gigs will be?
Are we thinking 3 nights at one venue or, hopefully, 3 different venues.
Any guesses where?
I'll take a stab at London, Nottingham and Edinburgh!
Oh, and a very happy Christmas to everyone on the forum! :)

I also find it amazing that in 2016, Mute Records did not record this tour in any format. I would of been happy with just an AUDIO recording.

Its totally baffling and wasted opportunity and its something fans WANT :-/
Posted by: glazball, December 28, 2016, 6:59pm; Reply: 27
Yes it is pretty upsetting.  I'd also love to have even the audio.  Sadly, I didn't get to see the VF show in person as we were closing on our house at the time and had no extra time or money.  I did get to watch it on Yahoo! which was a pretty wonderful treat though.

Is it possible Mute could license it from Yahoo!?  Or worst case scenario, did anyone happen to record it just for personal viewing/listening?
Posted by: Tin Soldier, December 28, 2016, 8:41pm; Reply: 28
Someone here had/has a HQ rip of that show, but pulled it before I could d/l it. :(

I do have some other rips of it. Have to look, but I think they were a tad choppy (That HQ rip was several GBs big, I think). I had planned on popping one of them into audition and breaking it down to mp3's, but just didn't get around to it. I was also planning that for the 551 rips. If I do it, I'll try to mention it somewhere.

Really, I still have lots of "Erasure tasks" yet on my list (browser themes, PDF'ing some Sire docs, custom items I want to order, mailing an old jar of peanut butter signed by Andy etc, etc). Hope I find the time for all these.  8)

That's what I found a bit odd when Vince effectively nixed the possibility of a TVF tour audio release in one of those FMTM preview interview videos the EIS and Pledge shared in the build-up - saying they had looked into including a recording of a TVF show for the box but that 'recordings were by 3rd party companies and the sound recording quality was
'crap', cos to my ears the Yahoo streamed show didn't sound bad at all?
Posted by: Danger, January 6, 2017, 9:18pm; Reply: 33
According to EIS newsletter, the new show will tour USA, UK, Europe and South America. I'll be not surprised if they will tour in 2018 after album and Robbie's tour in 2017 (plus the warm-up gigs).

I'm curious - what are the four extra tracks from?  Same show, unused in the broadcast?  That version of Voulez Vous is awesome.

"Voulez Vous" was performed during the final two shows of the tour in NYC -- including New Year's Eve!

With that in mind, the recording of "Voulez Vous" presented here is obviously from the latter of the two NY concerts - Andy makes reference to having performed it the night before so it must be.

The other three bonus tracks in this collection were also performed at this concert, so if I was to make an educated guess, I'd say those were also recorded at this show.

Which also probably explains why "Gaudete" is the only song from the various versions of the setlists NOT represented in this collection, as it wasn't performed on that final show (despite being performed the night before).

Disappointed they are playing Manchester and London for the warm up show's, as they are already playing at these cities a few weeks later
on the Robbie Tour,  they should have chosen elsewhere and given other fans a chance to see them, im from Newcastle and Erasure
have a big fan base up here, I've got tickets for the Robbie gig in Manchester but would have gladly sold that ticket had they announced
a show in the north east :o

Just had the following email from Richard:

As promised last week, here is a bonus newsletter containing dates for the first leg of Erasure's 2018 'World Be Gone' tour. Here are the dates for the initial run of shows in Ireland, the UK and Germany. Pre-sale for all these shows will start at 10am (UK) this Wednesday (May 31st) and there will be a FAQ dealing with all the usual questions on the Erasure website sometime tomorrow when all the venues have confirmed details of their pre-sale plans.
I completely understand that, having checked this list of shows, a lot of you will be asking if there are more shows to be added, in these countries AND elsewhere in the world. The answer to that is a resounding YES. There is every chance that there will be one or two more shows added to the first leg of dates below, and there will be a LOT more shows elsewhere in the world later next year. As usual that's all I can tell you at the moment, not because I'm teasing you or being mysterious, but because those details are not quite done and dusted and ready to announce! :-)
Having had the privilege of seeing the first 'World Be Gone' concert in Glasgow on Saturday night, and having received amazing feedback in response to last night's show in Manchester, I can, hand on heart, tell you that this is already shaping up to be a very special tour indeed. Thank you also to everyone who came to say hello to me at the show on Saturday when I was stamping 'From Moscow To Mars' passports, I look forward to meeting more of you in the same way in London tonight.
As mentioned above, the FAQ PAGE page for the pre-sale will be going live sometime tomorrow (Tuesday 30th) as soon as we've dotted all the final i's and crossed all the last minute t's. Thank you for your patience!

More dates and countries to follow, and Richard says in today's newsletter that there may be extra dates to be added for some of the UK venues (I notice a few 'spare' days after the London Apollo show, for example... half-tempted to hang out and see if they add Saturday 24th?)

Some of these venues are quite small, and I think will sell out fast. If I'm not mistaken, I think the O2 Academy in Birmingham is the old Sanctuary, where the 2nd EIS Christmas show was held, waaaaaaaay back in 2002. Either that or it's next door to it on Digbeth High Street. It's a club-sized venue really, so I wouldn't be surprised if they do add an extra date for Birmingham.

Also, does anyone know (it's been a long time since I've lived there!) if Guildford's 'G-Live' venue is the old Civic Hall rebranded?
Posted by: mr first, May 29, 2017, 10:14am; Reply: 62
The o2 isn't the old sanctuary I've been a couple of times to see other bands it holds about 3000 there's lots of standing room and seats above like a horseshoe shape, also great to see them playing Hammersmith again

Argh. That's still heartbreaking. I'll have to brave another winter before seeing them in the US?! ??) I'm not sure I can make it after watching all these vids from the last couple days.

Some tour company ought to arrange a "Erasure refugee" package for Europe. Richard would be able to stamp our actual passports.  ;D

I think the long break might be a contractual obligation so that people buy tickets for the Robbie Williams concerts and don't just wait for the Erasure concerts.

Another not so satisfying pre-sale, there were no standing tickets for Cardiff available, forked out just under £200 for 2 tickets in row D.
The Cardiff pre-sale is going a bit mad at the moment, sometimes it shows as nothing available and sometimes the cheaper tickets are available.

was at Manchester Albert Hall, amazing night with great audience (apart from a few women doing the usual chat..............grrrrrrrr) New album sounds amazing live.

Just got tickets for Newcastle February, cant wait. Going to see them at Southampton (with that Robbie bloke as support.......lol)

btw any one going to Newcastle City Hall, after September 2017 they are changing the seating with more seats down the sides for the disabled. So be aware if you get tickets in front of them you are likely to be told to sit down. If in the aisle usually can move to side and dance there, they don't usually tell us to get out of the aisle,

I shall be at the 02 Birmingham,if anyone hasn't been to the 02 it's quite a big venue and if you get there early there is free street parking close to but if not there is a car park opposite side of the duel carriageway

I noticed there were no 'standing' tickets available for Cardiff. I checked other bands and standing never seems to be an option, have they limited the size of St. David's Hall for pop/rock events or am I missing something?

I don't think 'cos the venues are more or less of the same capacity than in the past, the only really bigger in this Danish Arena

I honestly think they will adjust their stage for smaller venues in the 5000 and under capacity. That is what they play to in th US, which I think is planned for 2018

I have a feeling that the stage will be very minimalistic, a bit like the warm up gigs before that Robbie tour. It looked good and it did the trick. Some of the venues on the tour are pretty small.

It will be interesting to see what the stage will be like because in fact compared to recent tours erasure will be playing a few bigger venues such as Hammersmith,Birmingham academy and the arena in Copenhagen, also they will be playing south America later on in the year and generally they are quite big venues of around 7 to 10 thousand

On the other end of the spectrum we have places like the Capitol in Hannover which has a capacity of 1600 max. And I thought the minimalistic attempt of the warm up gig would work for most sizes, they just need enough smoke and mirror balls to brighten up bigger spaces. Unfortunately we will never again get a Phantasmagorical Entertainment or Cowboy tour, but I was more than happy with the European leg of the Tiny Tour which had not much of a stage set at all.

Small gigs are better anyway,I mean the Milton Keynes bowl and the NEC gigs were brilliant in there heyday but unfortunately concerts have become like premiership football with overpriced tickets and stupid corporate ideas like the golden circle,I'd rather have a small gigs better atmosphere I know there was an isolated scuffle at the roundhouse concert this year but your always going to get the odd dickhead who can't take his ale
Posted by: Pat.2000, October 1, 2017, 1:57pm; Reply: 117
I agree. The Tiny tour sound was excellent at Ilford Island.

Roundhouse in 2011 would have been great but the high up cheap seats meant we heard mostly echo vocals and midrange with not much bass. I tried sweet talking the young girl on the door to the floor standing but she must have heard it a thousand times, and she wasn't allowed to drink a can of Redstripe (4 quid) while on duty.

So I drank both cans and settled in at the top tier.

Hmmm...I actually like Terminal 5 better. Irving is fine, but too small. Maybe Beacon Theatre will also be a choice.

Frankly, spreading the gigs out is fine by me. I'd love to see them at Brooklyn Steel as well as the others.

If they can do RC, then they could do Jones Beach (depending on when the dates will be), and I would love to see them there as well. Hell, they could do Cylones Stadium like Sting/Peter Gabriel as well.

Now, now, easy, one can easily get carried away  :P

I don't think they can fill out a stadium and im very reluctant about Jones Beach too.. those longislanders....

Well, Jones Beach Amphitheater holds 15,000. Perhaps an issue there without a name opener, I'll grant you. ;)

But, don't be fooled by "Stadium" when it comes to the Cyclones, as MCU Park only holds 7,000. Truly, that would be a great gig that's relatively easy to fill if they can fill RCMH here.

Yes!  So love that we had a hand in the announcement!

As for venues, would love to see them at Brooklyn Steel.  Terminal 5 is fine, but have seen them a few times there now.  I liked Irving because it was so intimate and had fine memories of the Erasure Show Tour.  Whatever they decide I hope they play smaller venues and do multiple nights.  Selfishly, I need to get my fill!  Also, I hope they don't cut the setlist too short.  Last tour they played 20-21 songs.  Would love to see it back in the 25 range.

And then off back home to Hannover where I will meet up with my brother and two sisters to see them there. Have been with all my siblings before but never before all of us together at the same gig. I used to live in easy walking distance to the venue there, moved to Bristol from there about 20 years ago, I am sure this is going to be somewhat emotional.

This would have been a good occasion as it is a very intimate venue, which is in a more alternative quarter of the city.
If ever you go, drop me a line, as it is a more modern city it is not a big tourist destination, but has plenty of things to see and explore.

Morning Everyone,

Just to let you know that over the next day or so we are releasing a few tickets back into the sale pot for some of the UK dates. These are tickets that were on hold for the band (for their guests, for media people, for the record label etc) but which won't be needed, so there are only likely to be a few, and not for all shows, but do check with the venues if you're desperate... :-)

Good Luck!

He said if no tickets he'll still meet up for the usual pre gig beer at the "Stage Door" pub! 😁

Beacon theatre has the same capacity as Terminal 5, about 3,000 . And they played at Terminal 5 in their last 2 tours. Beacon theatre is definitely nicer and the architecture is more classy .

I really thought they would multiple nights in the same city.

As for Boston, I'm very happy they are doing House of Blues again , I really love that venue.

I'm glad there is a presale.  I guess Richard will be providing details in the Monday newsletter.  I hope the ticket limit isn't capped at 4.  Was hoping to purchase 8 tickets.

All the more reason I think they will add a 2nd date in NYC.  It is nice to see them play this venue again.  The last time may have been True Colors tour and then OPS before that.  I wonder if they will have a bit more spectacle this time around.  It is a rather big stage.  Are the venues this time around in North America more theaters this time around as opposed to general admission venues?

I, too, would not be at all surprised if they add another NYC date... likely the night before the advertised one since the advertised one is a Sunday which is a bit odd. Ok maybe not odd but a Friday or Saturday would also be fabulous!!  8)

Don't forget that your Order Number from either Lexer or Pledge for the 'World Beyond' items also serves as your tour presale code! (According to today's newsletterand the information on Lexer and Pledge!)

I think is very unfair to force people into buying the new album in order to receive the code for the pre-sale. After listening bits of the re-interpreted songs I can say it's not my cup of tea.
If this album was an original, completely new one, yes I would have purchased it.
Again, Mute records trying to squeeze out as much money as possible from real fans. Shame on them.

Just got the bonus newsletter from Richard, and he makes sure to emphasize that UK and European gigs will have FMTM Passport stamping - almost as if he can't bring himself to say hard cheese to the yanks.

Why must my passport remain a virgin?

That's a little harsh.

We know purchase-related ticket pre-sales are the standard now, whether we like it or not, and the concept of the album is sound. I think it's more accessible that Union Street in arrangement, really (though I find a septet a bit thin compared to the fuller sounding orchestration of the Poppy days).

I can't fault the label at all here, and applaud this effort; not to mention the successful secrecy surrounding it. It comes across as a labor of love, and with fans in mind, far more than a cash grab.

I have no problem purchasing World Beyond either, since I've always loved non-electric reinterpretations of Erasure's songs.

HOWEVER, I'm not interested in hearing them live since I want to hear electronic music from Vince and Andy if I'm paying big bucks to see them live again.  Union Street tour was enough for me, tyvm.  Do we expect these orchestral versions to be performed on tour?

Hmm, not much breathing room for added shows. Easier to do 12th-14th if adding shows in NY than the 16th, but it would be odd to add them before.

I'm such an optimist here thinking I could have more. :)

it looks like Erasure have moved some cities from Canada to the US  ;)

Andy has just said on the Victoria Derbyshire Show that the show is one and a half hours long and the stage set is like the Hamburg Red Light district.

Hmm, if one were to have placed more than one WB order with Lexer or Pledge, then one would have a code they could transfer to another, yes?

Let me grab my gavel.  8)

I was trying to get 8 tickets and they sold so quickly in NYC.  Couldn't get them.  Am going to have to go to a reseller now....

Tin, how did you do?
Posted by: Tin Soldier, January 23, 2018, 3:16pm; Reply: 189
I literally just checked my blood pressure, and I'm trying to meditate while typing now.

Got BB in Orch1! Orch1??? I know, I know, but I thought I'd get OrchCenter at least. I'm skipping salt for the next few days.

Just saw ORCH (Center) Row J pop up at $109.50 face. $99.50 is a memory now.

EDIT: Saw ORCH Row U at $89.50

These could be sole seats. Hard to say. It's like playing Battleship to know how many you can get in a row.

EDIT2: Yeah, not seeing anything now for 2+. All single seats.

Our personal frustrations aside, isn't this encouraging? Think it will sell 100%? I wonder if they could squeeze another in before...

(see balcony rows showing. wasn't for me before)

I'm Jealous.  I got Orch Row C.  See you there!

Bummer on the pre-sale.  I finally got tickets for LA but they are way in the back!  Where are all the good seats going?

Well, at least you won't be craning your neck. ;)

We doing a classic BrooklynSue kind of meetup beforehand? I'd be down for that.

I did Orch AA at Beacon during the OPS tour.  They were great seats.  I was resting my elbows on the stage, not too much neck craning necessary.

I'm down for a meetup.  I've got plenty of time these days.

Does anyone know if there are going to be General Admission tickets for the San Francisco show at the Masonic (August 19)?

It seems the presale only offers certain sections of tickets for sale (Floor 1-7, Balcony 1-12), but the seating chart shows there are also three sections right up front (Floor A-C).  I'd prefer general admission tickets, but don't want to lose the chance to choose good tickets if there aren't going to be any GA tickets offered.  I can't seem to find any details on Ticketmaster or on the Masonic's website.

Any info would be great...thanks!

Congrats! Well, I had an unusually chaotic work day so I couldn't focus on ordering tickets until around 1pm but luckily I got two seats together -- center orch. but around 20 rows back. I'm ok with that! Hope to see you all there!  8)
