I thought it might be fun to test your Erasure knowledge.  I've put together a few tricky questions, but instead of simply answering multiple choice, I thought it would better to invite discussion by asking open-ended questions.  Respond with your best guesses!  I did try to phrase the questions so they require some thought, but shouldn't be impossible.  Of course, there could be more than 1 correct answer which I didn't consider, but we'll see how it goes.  I'll give hints later if some of these aren't guessed after a while.  Good luck!

Correct answers:

1.  All share song titles with Depeche Mode songs
2.  Only released as live versions (no official studio versions)
3.  None have ever been performed live by Erasure
4.  All have song titles that are not sung in the lyrics (including the aptly named "Unsung"!)
5.  All have computerized voices except B. Chertsey Endlos
6.  All share song titles with pop songs while not being covers
7.  All have remixes by Gareth Jones
8.  All have remixes over 10 minutes long
9.  Each song includes some non-English words
10. All have some measures of non-standard (4/4) time except C. The Soldier's Return

Bingo!  1 and 2 are correct.

Pughie, your guess for 10 is certainly correct, but the answer I was after is a bit trickier.  Might even be the trickiest, but I don't want to give any hints just yet.

Keep the guesses coming!!

Ok how about
10.91 Steps is the only one that doesn’t sing the title name

Also true, but that's the right answer for a different number   Keep guessing!

Hint for #10: The 3 that are similar would be easily noticed by someone who can read sheet music...

PS.  I added a few entries to 3, 7 and 8 to hopefully make them a little easier.

So 'Always' is the odd one out, as it's the only song of the four to be in the more familiar 4/4  time signature (albeit with a bit of 2/4).

Updated a few questions (3, 4 and 7) with more songs to try to make it easier.

Hint for 5: Consider the vocals.
Hint for 7 & 8: Consider the remixes.

Ah...

7. They've all been remixed by the one and only Gareth Jones.

8. They are all tracks which have mixes with a running time of over 9 minutes.

(I did originally think it was they all have a running time of 10 minutes or more, but DSYLM threw me, until I remembered the US RH factor dub. Which comes in at just
under 10 minutes - you shoulld have left it out and kept it at mixes over the 10 minute mark! )

Well, in 5:

'Video Killed The Radio Star' is the odd one out because it's the only one that is a cover version. Don't say that's wrong because it's factually correct! I win!

But you say it's to do with the vocals?

Chertsey Endlos is the odd one out because it's the only 'Vincetrumental' on the list where Andy B provides some vocals.
(Although I'm sure he provides some backing on VKLRS)

If I'm right twice, I should get TWO prizes (There are prizes yeah?)
