Yazoo - Three Pieces, A Yazoo Compendium - (3xCD Deluxe Album)

Over 35 years since their formation, Yazoo - Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet - are still acclaimed as one of the UK's greatest pop duos. During their short time together, they made two classic albums "Upstairs At Eric's" and "You And Me Both", released iconic hit singles "Only You", "Don't Go" and "Nobody's Diary" and toured before disbanding in 1983. Their legacy was a sentiment and a sonic style which sent shock waves through the early-80s charts and continues to be heard in the latest pop hits and throughout contemporary electronica.
Three Pieces - A Yazoo Compendium features three remastered CDs in a hardback mediabook format with a 32 page booklet containing lyrics and photos.
Featuring:
UPSTAIRS AT ERIC'S - The classic debut album including "Only You", "Don't Go", "Goodbye 70's" and "Winter Kills".
YOU AND ME BOTH - The no. 1 UK album, the band's second and final record, featuring "Nobody's Diary", "Ode To Boy", "Mr. Blue" and "Walk Away From Love".
EIGHT REMIXES - Classic, extended and rare remixes by Richard X, Todd Terry and Youth plus the 2017 Orchestral mix of "Only You" and a brand new remix of "Winter Kills".
TWO BBC SESSIONS (including 6 previously unreleased tracks) - The early '80s John Peel and David Jensen BBC Radio One sessions exclusively remastered and available in their entirety for the first time. Includes versions of "Don't Go", "Situation", "Too Pieces" and "Winter Kills".
To commemorate the release (and available during the pre-order period only: cut-off 21st September 201 are Yazoo tote bags and t-shirts, both in black and white designs. See the "related items" gallery at the foot of this listing.

Ah.. £20. That's a price my wallet might be happier with.

Aside from the 7 previously unreleased tracks and the orchestral Only You, are there any other tracks that have never been released on CD before?

I don't believe so kwerty.  Situation (Richard X Remix) is/was previously only available on the Future Retro compilation CD but no Yazoo release (that I know of).  The Peel sessions have been traded around for years, so even though is little "new" to me, I'll still have to get it.  20 pounds does sting a little, but it does look like a nice set and I'll be preordering soon.

I do wish they had given these cleverer titles though.  I've always thought the play on words "Too Pieces", instead of Two Pieces or To Pieces, gives the song a quirky character of its own.  It would have been fun to see the vinyl set called "Fore Pieces" or "For Pieces"...  but not much you could do with "Three Pieces"!  (Well, except add a 4th disc of more stuff!)

Well yeah it does a bit, but it's not outlandish for a 3 CD set when you consider how much a two CD set or even just one CD costs,
even though it's probably overpriced for what it is. But what I mean is that compared to the £75 for the vinyl set, my wallet is much happier

But it's why I was asking what else might be on CD for the first time - I'm just looking for more added value to help me decide if it's worth
forgoing a few meals and spending that £20 on it.

Two Pieces = Minidisc

One Piece = VHS tape

Buy all pieces in a special made Suitcase-set and receive all tracks on bonus cassette tapes named as the Five Pieces

I don't understand why Mute/Yazoo didn't include this fantastic concert to this four/three piece?!

....I have one of the bootleg vinyl versions and I love it!!...would be cool to have 'mastered'-ish on CD

But if they did that then what would they be able to put on the next Yazoo anthology?

I'm sure if you give it another five or so years you'll be able to buy everything you already own again only this time with the 1982 concert as a bonus.
