This iTunes only release is a bit of an oddity

1. Oh L'Amour
2. Sometimes
3. A Little Respect
4. Always (7" Mix)
5.Breathe

Modern version of something we'd seen before...

It's arguably more deserving of the title 'Essential' than the actual compilation with that name.

I'd maybe replace Oh L'Amour with Stop! (Or Chains Of Love for the Americans), but it's almost the perfect compilation for the casual listener,
a stripped down to the basics list of songs everybody knows.

Didn't it come out shortly after Breathe (or Nightbird at least)? That would explain why that song is there - at the time it would have been fresh in
people's mind as a 'hit', and was probably released to capitalise on just that.

Wait.. I just saw the main header for this section: Erasure The Best Of (1995)

There is NO WAY this compilation was released in 1995! It re-purposes the HITS artwork for a start, and it's got Breathe on it, which was 2005.

It's iTunes fault I know - they get lots of dates wrong.

This is reminiscent of the Rhino Hi-Five--song collections--the Erasure one is still available (from 2005).

This caters to non fans but it's dodgy at best. With better compilations compiled already, this is just a cash cow attempt bylabels to cash in on back catalogs
