ISSUE 42 MAGAZINE & VINYL BUNDLE
When Mute launched its operation from 16 Decoy Avenue, London, NW11 in 1978, the idea that within a few short years it would be home to one of the world’s best-selling pop groups wasn’t the first thought on Daniel Miller’s mind. “I honestly didn’t think anybody would like it,” he tells us of the label’s debut single, which we’re delighted to b

While The Normal might be where it all started, this month’s cover story sees Mute boss Daniel Miller discussing the future of label and we profile the artists that make up Mute’s Class of 2018, as well as catch up with Vince Clarke, a man who has only ever been signed to one label for his entire recording career.

THE NORMAL SEVEN-INCH ON CLEAR VINYL
This month’s exclusive vinyl is a bit special. We’ve teamed up with Mute  to reissue THE NORMAL‘s classic ‘TVOD’ / ‘Warm Leatherette’ as a limited edition seven-inch on crystal clear vinyl. The record comes in a replica of its original 1978 sleeve and will be available only with Issue 42 of Electronic Sound.

As I've mentioned to Mat Smith, it's unfortunate that shops don't the the vinyl editions; at lest not in the states. I was a lovely thing to buy UK import mags a decade or two ago and get vinyl, flexis, CDs and tapes with them. A few other mags still come over, but none that I'd love to see as much as this.

I expect they will do something directly with Vince, and have something from him on a 7". At least I hope so.
