I think you may be a victim of inadequate punctuation due to Bruno's Twitter brevity.

Unless there's other news, that looks to be about the new tour and WBG.

The article mentions World Be Gone. And remember the forthcoming tour is for World Be Gone!

I wouldn't be shocked if they had some new material or new EP to promote

I'm still not convinced. Why do they need to promote anything? Most bands make their revenue from the tour and the European tour is sold out.

I agree.

I think I half-tried to make this point in another thread.

Some people seem slightly befuddled by the timing of the tour and feel it is too late to promote the album, but that's because I think people are making what is a mistaken assumption based on how things used to be. But times have changed.

For a lot of bands, the days of making money on albums are in the past (and we've been told that in the press from time-to-time over the last 10 years!).

Many artists now have to go out on tour to make their money.

So to some degree these days, the situation has become reversed and the album is there to promote the upcoming tour. And considering most, if not all, venues are sold out months in advance, it seems to have worked

Yes but Vince Clarke and Andy Bell are never idol. They have been prolific with new material almost every year. Vince seems to always have something going on. His work ethics now can be remixing, working with new artist on his label or coming up with new material.

Completely right.
Nowadays, the cash-in business is the tour, and the physical records are just tie-in...

Not with Erasure material they haven't.

Also, step back slightly. Remember with any new material, you hear about it many months before release. It's November. The tour starts in 2 months - January!

I always say that when you think Mr Clarke is quiet, is when he does a lot of inspirational work on his own or sharewith Andy.

Here's hoping for a little bit better song structure ... there were some AMAZING ideas on the last album but it was a bit too lacking in focus and direction. I would have loved another Be The One or (reverence and hush) Under the Wave.

What ??? For me, "World Be Gone" is plenty of songs like thses 2 ones, and even better.

Overall, I dislike "The Volet Flame", from the sleeve to the sound. The only thing i really liked in this album was the teaser withe the elevation intro. This was really, but the album finally was a huge disappointment for me, especially after the nice "Snow Globe".

I tend to agree.  I know opinions on Gareth Jones are mixed, but I think Erasure really suffered from not having a producer on this album.  I've always found that Gareth does some really wondrous things with Andy's vocals when it comes to layers and getting the best out of him with the exception of Other People's Songs.  That seemed to be lacking for me this time around.
