Hi,
I was just wondering if any US fans have received their vinyl copies of the Self Titled album and Other People's Songs
yet?

Thanks!

For these releases, the US domestic issue is still the import, yes? (From what I've seen)

FYI, if so, US shops can get them if they choose. Barnes & Noble has them online and have the newest on pre-order status.

While I always favor the small shops (RIP Rebel Rebel ) I'd love to see Erasure vinyl in the racks of a New York chain store again...even if a bookstore. I'll be asking if they can stock them as they have the DM Rhino pressings.

I actually bought the latest Enya LP there. It was a nostalgic experience. I pretended the signage was Tower, HMV, and Sam Goody. Took a lot of squinting.

Good luck if you see it inany of those US outlets, this seems like a Pledge campaign that will only go to certain online outlets. I've yet to see any of the released ones anywhere over here

Supposedly, bn.com have already started shipping on the earlier releases, and only taking pre-orders on the newest ones.

Just so you know, they are stocking tons of DM reissues, PSB, and have the new New Order releases (think a 12" too) plus more in-store. I'll try and see who their vendor is, but will ask the buyers at local stores to try their hardest to get them in-shop either way (they have the option).

Even if you have all the LPs so far and have committed to the rest via Pledge/Lexer, if you have any local shop that you think would carry these, you might be doing a service mentioning the reissues to them in case they weren't solicited by a distributor.

I've seen millennials buy those those DM Rhino issues at BN, and even Urban Outfitters (they carry vinyl; new and some used from Amoeba), so there's definitely people out there buyong in shops.

Oh I dont question you on DM and New Order because those go through mainline labels that will want to push them. I think it's up to BMG if they really want to go and press enough to go to these outlets. From what I can see they are content on just pressing for the Pledge/Lexer/Amazon crowd. My opinion of course from how Ive seen this play out.

Oh, count me as surprised that these are carried by BN at all, but that fact speaks to your opinion about mainline labels. Rhino is a reissuer, and lower on the totem pole than a major label, yet all are stocked. Now, even though these E reissues aren't from Rhino, being BMG (still a major label group) it would seem to make it more likely that the Erasure reissues would be picked up here as well, as the majority of the BN stock are reissues (like Best Buy), being safer bets in sales (they do have a smaller stock of selected newer more obscure releases too).

I'm not saying you'll find them at Rough Trade or other more preeminent NYC vinyl shops, but since BN deals with one-stop vendors on the whole, the likelihood is that smaller shops have even a better chance of obtaining them...if they want to, that is.

Of course, you are guaranteed receipt if bought from Pledge/Lexer, and have the opportunity to obtain extras. I'd just love for these to be seen and bought by those who had no idea these were out (something I have personally witnessed with the aforementioned DM reissues).

We need to indoctrinate more fans.

But Rhino is known for Re-issues, I would hope that there would be a joint plan with BMG and Rhino for US stuff that was on Sire but it gets complicated there.
