From the article.
“I’ve been working with Paul on this project for the past few months. We have done most of the collaborating so far online but in the next couple of months I will be travelling to his studio in Brighton to mix the album down,” Clarke told The Star exclusively.
“It’s dance music but it’s much more accessible than the techno album I did with [Depeche Mode’s] Martin [Gore].
“I am going to set up a new independent record label to release it, and other projects like it. It should be out in the second half of 2016.” |

Taken from today's EIS newsletter VINCE CLARKE AND PAUL HARTNOLL ANNOUNCE 'BETTER HAVE A DRINK TO THINK' SINGLE I know that lots of you have been anxious for more news of the collaboration between our very own Vince Clarke and former Orbital mainman Paul Hartnoll, so I am delighted to be able to announce today that the first single from the project will be called 'Better Have A Drink To Think' and will be released as a download single on June 3rd and will be followed by an eight-track album entitled '2Square'. The releases will be the first to come out on Vince's brand new micro label VeryRecords. And if that's not enough then Vince and Paul have also invented a brand new electronic music genre, 'Home House', to help define the project... The single (which is a big upbeat slice of fabness) will go out to radio next week so listen out for plays (do let me know if you hear it) here and there! More details about the project soon, but in the meantime you can get more details, plus view the single artwork, on the newly launched VeryRecords website and you can keep in touch with the project via Vince's own VeryRecords Twitter account, and also across the new VeryRecords Facebook page... The single is taken from the duo’s forthcoming album ‘2Square’ and is the first release from the newly formed VeryRecords label. Clarke and Hartnoll have composed and recorded eight tracks for the album in the style of ‘Home House’, a new electronic sub-genre which is defined as ‘music you can dance to, in the privacy of your own living room’. Paul Hartnoll (Orbital) recalls how it all came about. “Vince approached me and asked if I wanted to work with him on some tracks he had demoed. I set about adding and fiddling around and then we both spent a week finishing and mixing the record in my Brighton studio. Between us we’ve chalked up more than 50 years of making electronic dance music, we’re both Dads, and it was time to hold out the hand of collaboration and help each other up onto the dance floor to dance as only Dads can.” VeryRecords is a micro download-only label started in 2016 by Vince Clarke of Erasure. |

Just heard it. It's heavy Vince electro which is good but repetitive chorus that you can barely make out is not so good. |

The EIS newsletter from today says that the download will be available from the 3rd of June, it is already available from iTunes and I suppose other retailers. The whole EIS thing is not really working at the moment. |
