Let me know your thoughts about which Erasure track you think has the best intro (or at least a great one)

I think that 'Erasure - Breath of Life' has a very cool and catchy intro

Intro for the remixes I've always loved this one 'Erasure - Supernature (William Orbit Mix)'

Yours ?

I still love the siren intro of Chorus

Ialso love the iconic piano intro to Blue Savannah

strangely I don't get tired of the A Little Respect intro after 1000 times hearing it. It's like a Bearle song you heard many times

Also Devoleb join us on the Facebook UEC page as we celebrate 30 years with other erasure collectors. You will like

Ooooh-good topic Devoleb!

For me, the songs with the best intros are 'Breathe', 'Stop', 'Chorus' and 'Moon and the Sky'

Remixes with the best intros.... hmmm... now that's a more tricky one.

Recent ones - the Dave Aude mix of Gaudete (The Victim sample is inspired) and the Parralox mix of 'Reason' for me.

Older remixes... I think I may have to get back to you

Songs? Hmm... Stop!, Chorus (for sure), Take Me Back, Always, Moon and the Sky, Elevation.

Mixes? Chains of Love (Foghorn Mix - I'm not a massive fan of the song itself, but this is a great build-up); Stop! (Mark Saunders remix); You Surround Me (Gareth Jones remix on the Supernature 12"); Gaudete (Dave Aude or DJ Yiannis mixes - something very 'grand' and cinematic about the latter).

The Intro to "Intro: Guess I'm Into Feeling" is probably the best and also longest intro. I like how it slowly develops into a full blown song. Other songs with cool intros are Chorus, Moon & the Sky, Home, Angel and Because You're So Sweet. Dead Of Night is another good example.

I'd go with Knocking On Your Door for a song and Drama (Act 2 Hung Jury Mix) for mix.

Argh-how could I have forgotten Take Me Back? And Guess I'm into Feeling is genius-actually, come to think of it-Isn't that 'technically a remix?

But i'm so glad to see the love the Moon & The Sky is getting here-such an under-rated gem (although the generic single remixes lose the experimentation and drive of the track IMO)

My favourite is No Doubt from Nightbird, favourite remix would be Breath of Life - Elixir Mix

Another superp (for me) intro, Erasure - angel

I also think that this remix, Erasure - Ship Of Fools (Orbital Southsea Isles Of Holy Beats Mix) has a brilliant intro

LOL I've always struggled with that mix - that really low, slow throbbing bass sound that keeps speeding up and slowing down... as an occasional migraine sufferer, I can only say to non-migraine sufferers wondering what it feels like, the breakdowns in that mix are a perfect analogy in sound form!! MY head certainly is spinning (and the entire room) when that strikes!

TURNS THE LOVE TO ANGER - the album version is great, but particularly love the intro in the live version of the Phantasmagorical tour.
