The news that iPop is going to be released as a digital only released is a bit of a shocker, but would you prefer a CD physical version?,most fans I know would but the future does seem to be heading towards downloads only.

A possible idea I  thought of is to have an EIS only release similar to Snow Globe,The Complete Tomorrow's World & Andy's own Non Stop Boxset.

The main problem is Mute are not releasing iPop it's on the Ministry Of Pops own label. I'm sure though if a high enough need for a Boxset etc with maybe alternative mixes/remixes and a DVD with the Beautiful video on would be a nice idea, and the MoP want to have a limited edition release ..... More money guys! (Ok maybe not enough for a private jet) but some maybe on offer.

CDs are the future, well that's what they said 25-30 years when we waved goodbye to the vinyl LP. Since then we have waved goodbye to the 7" single, the cassette single, the 12" single..... And now it seems the CD is finally losing it's grip on the music market.

But the beauty of an idea like this is that like Snow Globe Boxset you get the pre-orders in and only order in a set amount that you know you'll sell. You get what you want the physical CD in your hands, lots of fans are happy, plus Andy & in this instance Shelter also get a cut.

Vinyl for collectors on a limited run has made furious comeback in the last 5 years thanks to Record Store Day demands. I have even seen cassettes resurface too

I would be happy never buying another cd again... pointless medium in today's world.  give me an apple lossless, or FLAC, and if I care, vinyl. honestly, for this, mp3 is fine.

I dont give a monkies to be honest. If it means material being released then so be it. I would much rather not have a CD and get this release than it not be viable if CD was the only option. Nowadays it is so much more cost effective to release digital only and completely understandable. Anyone who says they wont purchase a digital release only of an artist they like/enjoy is just bonkers. Even if you are an audiophile it is still a cut of nose to spite face attitude.

I did buy the digital only release, but I find it difficult to get excited over digital only, as there are no lyrics, no info on producers etc. it is much more throw away than a CD release.
