I thought members might like to share other favourite artists, groups, tracks, albums or gigs beside Erasure.  There may also be an interesting story or event behind those choices that people may wish to share.

I’ll go first: - song that I will never get tired of hearing.

Purple Rain - Prince

Great idea for a thread...

A particular favourite of mines ... Johnny Cash - Bird On A Wire (Live with Orchestra)

There's a lovely bit of playful banter between Johnny and the Orchestra's MD when he starts playing the song in the wrong key!

Hopefully soon to have the Studio 34 treatment so can be added to the Winaoke Catalogue...

Taylor Swift - Red

I have been very pleasantly surprised by this album.  Good tracks, very well produced, extremely well mixed with a punchy master.  Great modern Tennessee sound, with huge drums.  Would highly recommend this.

Ray Lamontagne - Trouble

Usually one of my easy going weekend albums.  Here's the title track.

Aimee Mann - @#%&! Smilers

Always loved the Chrissie Hynde tone. Here's Freeway from the album.  31 Today is also a favourite.

Roy Orbison - Life Fades Away

Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash's formative years producer)

Heard this a few times at the Crematorium...quite an apt song and lyrics. Roy's 4 octave voice is as strong as ever.
