I admire your dedication!! A poorly mastered album via low-resolution cassette media... that's a one-two punch to an audiophile's chest! Or, ears. Or, whatever... I can't metaphor today. Hard not to enjoy that album whatever the format
Well, versus no Erasure at all, a cassette or even a scratchy record is better, no? Had I an extra worn out copy that I didn't listen to, I'd sooner get it into the hands of a new potential fan than toss it.
"Erasure message board code was written into my DNA during conception"
Loveboat holds some dear favorites, such as Here In My Heart, Catch 22, Alien, Moon and the Sky, Love is the Rage and Surreal. Love those tracks very much!!
That's correct Tin - even listening to an AM broadcast of Loveboat over a cheap 80's walkie talkie set would be better than nothing!! I was just surprised that Loveboat got any kind of cassette release because by 2000, cassettes were dead.
And I have to agree with you Mikey! Here in My Heart is one of their best and it's a shame that song has never gotten much attention. It was my choice for "song that should have been a single" in Onge's recent poll. (Catch 22 is up there too!)
I love this album, it sounds very mature Erasure. I am listening to it just now on my HomePods and I am always surprised that some people don't like the sound of it. It sounds fantastic, it sounds very textured and spatial. It has a lot of bass, but if your sound system setup does not distort the sound, it makes it sound very warm and intimate. The whole album is full of experiments and great songs. I wish the album would have had a tour to show off the brilliance of some of the songs. Mad As We Are was certainly a highlight for me on the last tour, as it was cut from The Other Tour (I think) before it hit the UK.

I’m sure it was only played at Norwich on the first night in the UK,I was lucky enough to hear it at that gig.
